The most recent Women in AI Circle event in Den Haag buzzed with conversation on a topic both timely and complex: navigating the ever-shifting landscape of AI within the realm of government. The event featured Elja Daae, Data, AI & Algorithms Coordinator at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, and Monika Milanović, Legal Policy Officer at the same ministry.

Meet Willy Tadema, an AI ethics lead and civil servant. Willy tries to contribute to this from within the government, while looking outward. She does this not with a theoretical, but a practical view. Read her story.

Philipp Werle provided insights into the history of the High Tech Campus Eindhoven and the goals of the AI Innovation Center. One of the highlights of the evening was our interactive card game.

Plus, we got an insider’s look into a captivating workshop led by Anouk Dutree, Head of Product at UbiOps, where we demystify the deployment process with a hands-on demo.

“It’s not just about scaling up or reaching new heights” – a voice-over of an impressive introduction video at the State of Dutch Tech event tells us. “It’s about changing lives!” On the 6th of March thought leaders, academics, policy makers, investors and founders came together in Den Haag to discuss the state of technological innovations within the Netherlands. And Women in AI Netherlands was there to join the conversation.

In a recent interview with Miriam Veronesi we shared profound insights about the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the collaborative efforts between the Netherlands AI Coalition (NL AIC) and Women in AI. As a Chair of Start-ups and Scale-ups for the NL AIC and a leading figure at TNO focusing on the societal, economic and ethical aspects of AI, she has been in the forefront of innovation in tech for many years.
