About the Women in AI Netherlands Gala

The 2024 Women in AI Gala took place at February 9th. It had the most awesome energy! The evening started off with a great dinner, accompanied by the great tunes of saxophonist Susanne Alt. After that the Award ceremony began, where we were all moved by the story that Sheila Gemin told us. The Award show was off to a great start and we were able to celebrate the Award winners together.

AI Impact Maker

Anastasia is Founder & CEO at Sirus. Her startup is leveraging AI to drive sustainable transformation in the metals, mining, and mobility sectors – a critical area for the energy transition.

Noelle Cicilia

Responsible AI Leader

Noelle is co-founder at BrushAI. She conducts research on algorithmic fairness methods and how to apply them in a practical way.

Rina Joosten-Rabou

AI Entrepreneur

Rina is CEO at Pera. Her startup uses AI to match candidates and eliminate human bias in hiring decision-making.

Fantine Huot

AI Researcher

Fantine is Research Engineer at Google Deepmind. She is using computer vision to early detect wildfires and earthquakes.

Enya Séguin

AI Young Professional

Enya is Unit Manager at Delft Imaging. She is making pregnancy scans accessible to women in developing countries.

Cynthia Liem

AI Diversity Leader

Cynthia is Associate Professor at TU Delft. She was the first technical commentator on the childcare benefit scandal in NL, and raising awareness about algorithmic bias and amplification.

The WAI Awards

The winners of the Women in AI Awards were announced. In total there were six categories: AI Impact Maker, Responsible AI Leader, AI Entrepreneur, AI Young Professional, AI Researcher and AI Diversity Leader.

Dinner and networking

The evening started with a dinner that took place at ING’s Head Office's restaurant. A perfect opportunity to network and chat with like-minded people. The dinner was accompanied by the great tunes of saxophonist Susanne Alt.
