WAI Event Marketing Manager
We are currently looking for a creative and structured Social Media specialist to support our WAI team. The volunteer is responsible for supporting the Head of Marketing in executing content and social media for our Awards, Gala and Summit. This position is perfect for candidates in their early career who want hands-on experience developing content or experienced content leads who want to tap into the WAI community for exciting content they can repackage for their own organization.
Who we are
Women in AI (WAI) is a nonprofit do-tank working towards inclusive AI that benefits global society. We are a community-driven initiative bringing empowerment, knowledge, and active collaboration via education, research, events, and blogging. At Women in AI, we empower women and minorities to become AI & Data experts, innovators, and leaders. We encourage ethical applications and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The WAI NL chapter was founded in 2018 and is one of the most active WAI chapters globally with over 7.5K followers and 1.5K members. The WAI NL team comprises of 65 volunteers who want to support our mission to make AI inclusive. Our team runs 5 programs and over 35 events a year.
About how we work
The WAI NL team meets twice a month in the evenings after work (once with the entire team and once with your department team) to collaborate and develop programs and content for our WAI community. Volunteers dedicate approximately 3-5 hours per week related to their role and responsibilities.
About the role

Support the Events team in Women in AI team in executing social media content to promote our awards and events.

Create commercially viable and clear social media posts on LinkedIn and Instagram related to the awards and events.

Develop online content like blogs, video interviews, and more to boost engagement

Possibility to test paid advertisement for targeted ticket sales for Gala & Summit

Create email marketing campaigns related to event communications, such as confirmations and followups with attendees.
Who you are
- Graphic Design Skills: Experience with design tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for creating and editing visual content.
- Strong Copywriting abilities: Excellent english writing skills to help our message and products be conveyed clearly and attractively.
- Proficiency in other marketing skills like photography or video editing are a plus.
- Strong Communication and Teamwork Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
