AI disruption at the workplace

Join us in Utrecht for a talk on the transformative impact of Generative AI, particularly Large Language Models, on modern workplaces. Discover how employees are using Large Language Models as their private knowledge assistant and the challenges that arise from its integration. Gain insights into employee-AI relationships and their evolution, understand the various use types of Large Language Models, and learn strategies to manage potential side effects of AI use.

We will discuss how the use of generative AI is changing knowledge and creative work in organizations. Our new research reveals how AI impacts traditional knowledge ties between peers, the long-term consequences for organizational dynamics, and how business leaders can prepare for these implications to future-proof their workforce. The talk will be delivered by Jana Retkowsky, a postdoctoral researcher at the KIN Center for Digital Innovation, who authored the research being discussed. Don’t miss this opportunity to stay ahead of the curve and prepare for the AI-driven future of work!

About the speaker:

Dr. Jana Retkowsky is a Postdoctoral Researcher at KIN Center for Digital Innovation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is fascinated to uncover the changing nature of work that is continuously evolving. For example, gig work and generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT), which are both part of her core research interest. For example, she did an ethnographic study about the gig economy. She aspires to contribute to society by taking an active role in understanding and reshaping this new world of work. For example, as part of her PhD research, Jana also engaged in impact making. See for more information: e.g., www.dlf-lab.nl. Her work has been published in international journals and in the national Dutch newspaper Het Parool. She presents her work at international conferences such as the Academy of Management (AOM).
