About the panelists

Elja Daae is the Data, AI & Algorithms Coordinator within the Digital Society Directorate at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. She focuses on topics such as the regulation of AI, international governance of AI, and the government’s use of AI and algorithms. In addition to her work as a policy coordinator, she is chair of the Public Services working group of the NLAIC, where the emphasis is on knowledge about the use of new AI technology within government.

Ruth Koole is a Data Scientist at the National ICT Guild, specializing in ethical AI in the public sector. Her work focuses on the technical, organizational, and ethical preconditions for developing and implementing algorithms and data products. The National ICT Guild contributes to data, AI, software, and security issues for the Netherlands of tomorrow. Their specialists are deployed on a project basis for meaningful and crucial IT processes throughout the entire government.

Monika Milanović is a Legal Policy Officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. She was part of the Dutch delegation and was closely involved in the negotiations on the EU AI Act, as well as the negotiations on the Council of Europe’s AI Convention. Before this, she was involved in developing the Dutch fundamental rights and algorithms impact assessment
